How I go take install Ayoba again?

If you wan install the Ayoba app again, you go first delete am from your phone. Before you do am, we go advise say make you backup your chats. Just tap the button where dem write menu, then select Settings, then tap on Maintenance and select Chat Backup.

This one go safely backup your chats go the Cloud, and allow you return your chat from before before if you need am. Know say your backups dem no dey inside your handset oh, so you go need to get internet if you wan do backup.

Abeg follow these steps dem if you wan delete Ayoba and install am again:

Option 1:

• Touch and hold the Ayoba sign for the Main Screen until the sign start to dey shake
• Press the X wey dey the corner of the Ayoba sign
• Tap Delete so you go remove the application and all the information wey follow am
• Press the Main button
• Download Ayoba from the Google Play Store again.
• To return your Chat Backup, you go tap the menu button, then select Settings, then tap on Maintenance and then select Chat Backup, e go return.
• You fit also visit the Ayoba website go download the app and install am again at any time. If you be MTN user you go fit download Ayoba for free*, you no go use your data.

Option 2:

• Touch and hold the Ayoba sign for the Main Screen and then drag am drop am inside the dustbin/Uninstall bin
  • Select uninstall to confam say na delete to remove the application and all im information 
  • Press the Main buttoon 
  • Download Ayoba again from the Google Play Store.
• To bring back your chat from where you store am, you go tap the menu button, then select Settings, then tap on Maintenance then select Chat Backup, and restore.
• You fit also visit the Ayoba website go download the app and install am again at any time. If you be MTN user you go fit download Ayoba for free*, without using your data.

How I go take confam my number?

Once you download the app. open am then follow the steps:

1. Put your full name
2. Choose your country from the list wey go drop-down. This one go automatically put your country code for your phone number 
3. Put your phone number inside the box under
4. Tap verify to ask for code
5. Entre the 6-number code wey you get by text message

I no get the 6-number code by text message

• Wait for the time to count finish then select Send text message again.
• No reason the code o, if not you no go fit entet your account for some time. This one na security wey go make sure say anoda person no go fit see road enter your account.

If the probelm still dey, abeg try this one dem:

• Reboot your phone (To reboot your phone, off am, count 30 seconds, then on am again).
• Delete this Ayoba then install the latest model of Ayoba.

I fit use Ayoba on top two handset?

You fit confam your Ayoba account with only one number for one handset. If you get double SIM phone, abeg know say you must still choose one number to confam with Ayoba. E no get way to operate Ayoba account with two phone number.

I go need register again if I remove the app then install am again?

No you no need to. All you need do na to download Ayoba from the Google Play Store again or from Ayoba.me/download. Enter your name, select your country from the drop-down menu, enter your phone number then select verify.

Know say: If you don back up your chat history before you delete the app then install am again, your chat dem from before go come back automatically.

Account and Profile management

How to add or update my Profile picture?

If you never select profile picture:

1. Open the menu for the top left hand side of the app

2. Tap the edit sign

3. Tap the profile picture > Camera sign

4. Choose photo from where picture dey dey to use as your profile picture

If you don already get profile picture:

1. Open the menu for the top left hand side of the app
2. Tap your profile picture or the edit sign
3. If you dey select the edit sign, then tap your profile picture > camera sign
4. Choose photo from where picture dey dey so you go fit change the profile picture wey you get now

I fit update my Display Name?

1. Open the menu for the top left hand side of the app
2. Tap your Display Name or the edit sign and then change or add your new display name

How I go take add my Status or update am?

1. Open the menu for the top left hand side of the app
2. Tap your status or the edit sign
3. Add new status then select the mark sign to confam am, or select one status from the list of the other status wey you don set before.

Know say: If you block person, that contact no go fit see your profile picture or your status when you update am.

How I fit delete my account?

Na simple things wey you go do if you decide to delete your account. Know say this process na final final, even the Ayoba people no go fit help you get am back no matter wetin happen, so abeg make sure say na something wey you wan do.

Follow these four steps:

1. Open the Ayoba app
2. Open the menu for the top left hand side of the app
3. Top Settings > Maintenance > Delete your account
4. Press OK to confam am

When you delete your account e go:

• Permanently delete your Ayoba account
• Wipe all your message from before before
• Immediately remove yousef from all your Ayoba groups

Some important things to know:

• You no go fit enter your account
• If you delete your account, e no go change the information wey other users get about you, like their copy of messages wey you don send them
• Some copies of some materials (e.g. log records) fit remain inside our record but them no follow for wetin them go take identify you.

If you dey move from one type of phone to another one, and you dey keep your number, you go keep your account info. Your account information join with the phone number. Just download Ayoba for the new phone then confam your number.

To change the language for your phone:

Android: Go your phone Settings > System > Languages & input > Languages. Tap and select any language.

Share the selfies and pictures wey you like with Ayoba and e no go stress you. Use the + (new chat sign) to start new chat, then tap the attachment sign, then select Gallery where picture dey dey to choose pictures from your library. You fit also tap on Camera to snap photo and share am immediately.

I fit use Ayoba share my location?

To share your location with your contacts just tap the + (new chat sign) to start new chat, then tap the attachment sign and then select Location.

I fit use Ayoba send voice message?

You fit send short voice message to another person wey dey use Ayoba na to just tap the Microphone sign for your chat page by the bottom right hand corner of the screen. You fit also start new chat message with the + (new chat sign) then tap the attachment sign and select Audio, then tap the Microphone sign and then record your message.

I wan send file or document, I fit use Ayoba?

To send files tap the + (new chat sign) to start new chat, then tap the attachment sign and then select File. Now, you go browse your handset, select the file then share am with your contacts them.

How I go take reply messages?

Tap the message wey you want look. To reply, just tap the compose side for the bottom of the screen then type your reply and then tap send. Na so e easy.

I fit share or forward messages give my Ayoba contacts?

You fit forward messages, audio files, pictures and contacts dem too just tap the message wey you want forward then hold am, you go see the forward arrow for the top right hand corner of your screen, then select the contact wey you want send the message and then tap send. The message go get “Forwarded” mark. You go also get notice say the message done forward.

How I go take delete messages wey don old or wey I no want again?

Just tap and hold the message for the chat screen, then select the dustbin sign wey dey the top of the screen and then confam wetin you select.

I fit move my chat go storage list?

No, Ayoba no get how to move chat go storage list (for now). If you wan remove chat from your chat list, you go delete am, but the delete go be permanent and you no go fit get am again.

I fit arrange my chat another way?

Your chats dey always arrange according to the most recent, the chats go show for the top of the list. You no go fit change this arrangement method for Ayoba (for now).

How I go take delete chats?

For the main Ayoba screen, tap and hold the chat wey you wan delete, then select the dustbin sign for the top of the screen, then confam wetin you select.

How I go start group chat then invite my contacts dem?

Tap the new chat button + then select NEW GROUP option, then add the contacts wey you want inside your group chat. Now all you need to do na to start discussion.

What if I wan commot from group chat?

You fit commot for any group chat any time you want just tap on the group chat sign by the top of your chat page, then select the LEAVE GROUP button, then confirm wetin you select.

What if I wan delete gorup chat?

To delete group chat just tap and hold the group chat for the main screen, then select the dustbin sign and then confam wetin you select. You fit decide to commot from the group by this time too.

If you delete group chat, na only the messages for your own handset wey you go delete, you no go delete the chat for other members of the group.

What if I need to return my chat history from before?

Backups dey happen automatically every 24 hours, only if you get internet connection. You no go fit put or stop the automatic backup.

You go fit force new backup to start when you tap the Menu bar, select Settings, then Maintenance and then Chat Backup. This one go backup your chat go cloud, and allow make you return your chat if you need am and e safe.

Know say your backups dem no save inside your handset, and so you go need internet to make backup.

The Auto Download levels dey OFF from start. If you want automatically download pictures and videos wey you get for Ayoba, you fit ON Auto Download. To arrange Auto Download you go select the main menu, then tap on Media and then arrange your auto download as you like am. We go advise make you off am if you no get plenty data.

To chat with people wey no dey use Ayoba

I fit chat with people wey no get the Ayoba app?

You fit send message from Ayoba to anybody, even if them no get the app for their handset. Messsages to people wey never download and register with Ayoba go come like SMS text message and link go dey, to see other files and things if them follow come.

We done partner with MTN, which mean say MTN users go fit answer Ayoba SMS text message with text messages, free of charge even if them no get the Ayoba app inside their handset. People wey no de use MTN go get message from Ayoba by SMS text message, but them no go fit answer. I fit add contacts, even if dem no dey use Ayoba?

When you want make new chat, tap the menu for the top right hand corner. Then enable Show SMS contacts. Now, you go fit see all your contacts, even those wey no de use the Ayoba App.

If any of those contacts download the Ayoba app and them register with the phone number wey de inside your contacts app, the Ayoba app go update their status with immediate effect, so that e go show say them go fit relate as full Ayoba user.

I fit send pictures or files to contacts wey never download the Ayoba app?

You fit send pictures, videos and links to contacts wey never download the Ayoba app. The contacts go get SMS text message notice wey go carry link to take see the information. Know say to look or download the message their network fit charge them for their data.

I don get Ayoba message, but I no get the app. I fit still see the message?

You fit look text message and files wey them send from Ayoba user with Ayoba, even if you never download the free Ayoba app. We don partner with MTN, meaning say MTN users go fit answer Ayoba SMS message with SMS message, for free, even if them no get the Ayoba app inside their handset. People wey no dey use MTN go get message from Ayoba by SMS text message, but them no go fit answer. How I go take add contacts?

Just add the person number to your phone contact. Once you don create the new contact you fit open the Ayoba app, tap the new message sign + and select the person wey you wan follow chat.

The Ayoba app go automatically check whether the person don already download and register their number with Ayoba. If not, them go show as SMS text message contact inside Ayoba.

How I go take delete contacts?

You fit delete contacts the normal way, for your phone contact section. Open your contact list for the phone, tap the person name and then tap the menu for the top right hand corner. Select delete, then confam wetin you select.

How I go take block person?

You fit block person inside Ayoba, just tap the menu sign for the top right hand corner. Select Block, then confam wetin you wan do. Once you block person you no go fit get message or anything from that contact and he/she no go fit see your status. You go still see them for your contact list, but dem go mark am as “Blocked”. If you wan send and receive message from person wey you block, you go need to unblock the contact.

How I go take unblock contact wey I don block?

To unblock contact wey you don block before, you go start new chat with the + sign, select the contact, then use the menu for the top right hand corner and then tap Unblock, then you go confam wetin you wan do. Now, you go come fit chat with the contact again, the person go fit send you new message, reply your own message and see your status.

How I go take make voice call on Ayoba?

You fit make voice calls dem from the Ayoba app to any of your Ayoba contacts. Them go charge the call like normal voice call and e go use your credit or airtime wey dey available. Importantly, to make call inside the app no dey use data and no be free. To make voice call with Ayoba, tap the + (new chat sign) and then tap the phone sign to make voice call.
